Congratulations to you, your officers and members. The 2011 Scotland Funeral Home Community Service Grant has been awarded to Elgin and District Co-Operative Nursery School. We realize the officers and members involved are strictly on a volunteer basis and rely directly on their registrations, local donations and fundraising.  It is also important for us to know that your organization does not only include children from the Village of Elgin, but to all of those in situated within the boundaries of Rideau Lakes Township

 I sincerely feel that what you and your group are doing is truly remarkable, your dedication is outstanding.

It is so very important for us to help assist the children of lesser means and that are not able to pay your registration fees. This grant will enable them to participate, belong and learn as any child we believe should have the same opportunity as others.   As Magic Johnson has quoted: “All children need is a little help, a little hope, and someone who believes in them.

In closing, the Grant Committee feels that any funds awarded, when involving our citizens in need, especially our youth is considered money well spent and a most worthwhile and important venture.
